POST FIVE
You are now at the corner of the Long Meadow. You can either turn right and follow the footpath, or if the ground is dry you can walk across the meadow itself. Two species of buttercup grow in the meadow: Creeping Buttercup and Meadow Buttercup. Towards the further end of the meadow is a small orchard, with Damson, Apple and Pear trees. In spring, these produce a beautiful display of blossom, and in early autumn you may be lucky enough to find some delicious ripe fruit to pick. Just beyond the orchard the path comes to a junction, where you will find post no. 6.
